Due to this drama centering around sex crimes, a sector of crime rarely covered, I was excited to see how they explored the various cases but ended up being disappointed.
The writing felt unimaginative and poorly put together. We get a selection of villains who all feel like versions of eachother. Does a sinister smirk and evil laugh always need to accompany a criminal? It had the potential to be a positive influence on victims and deter individuals from being assailants and yet it felt slow and none of the characters had depth.
I went from thinking that Ma Yi Deum would be an empowering female character but she became irritating and had a strange romantic element with Yeo Jin Wook thrown in. I am always one who advocates romance but when two cast members have no chemistry, the script is haphazard and the plot is unimaginative, it is better to keep it simple.
I think 'The Witches Court' should be indicted for doing such an injustice to the sex crimes unit in its representation.
