This is a relitivly short series in terms of Chinese Dramas but definitely managed to give us a substantial and interesting plot.

In terms of story this was new and interesting. The action scenes were well choreographed and the dynamic between the Li Teng and Ruan Nian Chu was full of chemistry. Although Li Teng jealousy felt slightly over the top at times it fit in with his character and he was always respectful of Ruan Nian Chu. As a character Ruan Nian Chu definitely becomes more interesting as the episodes go on and I appreciate that she is not portrayed as a damsel who is always unaware of dangers. She does trust people too easily but that is needed for the plot.

There are some questionable elements of the plot such as how all these people from a powerful drug cartel just appear. In reality if somone was undercover in an opporation the following events are very unlikely. We do get left with some flaws in the plot but the unanswered questions do not detract from the overall story.

The story was interesting and as a duo Yilia Yu (Ruan Nian Chu) and Tsao Yu Ning (Li Teng) created incredible tension with the small touches and glances. Every interaction built to steamy kiss scenes and a believable sense of love. I hope we get to see them in some more interesting roles in the future.

This drama has been rather unjustly under promoted and is definitely worth watching if you want to watch a romance that has more substance to it when it comes to plot. It is not quite in the league of 'You Are My Hero' but it is definitely worth adding to your WATCHLIST.

Synopsis:
