There have been a few dramas that feature a shape-shifting character that turns into a cat but this is the first one that I have sincerely enjoyed. Yes, the premis is a little ridiculous but they managed to create this sense of plausibility which is not an easy task when you are depicting a cat/human from another universe.

Gia Ge made an excellent cat and as she comes to terms with the human world she makes lots of adorable blunders. The consistency between real cat behaviour and her attitude towards certain things such as thunder make you belive that she is a cat in human form. As for the love story between Xiao Xiu and Yu Chi Yan is very sweet and full of tenderness.

As an acting duo Gia Ge and Ren You Lun felt comfortable together and they did a brilliant job of bringing the quirky story to life.

I will say that the side characters and additional plot lines were slightly questionable at times and it did feel like it would have been better if it were shorter. The drama felt a little unnecessarily drawn out.

All that being said, if you want a lighthearted fantasy romance that is an easy watch then this is one you may enjoy.

Synopsis:
Yu Chi Yan, a typical 'Buddhist youth' who simply goes with the flow saves a white cat by chance, who turns out to be a cat spirit from Meow Planet located in a parallel world. Taking on a human form, Xiao Xiu must repay Yu Chi Yan's kindness before returning to her own planet. A series of hilarious encounters ensue as Xiao Xiu moves in with Yu Chi Yan. Thus beginning an unconventional romance.
