As the title would suggest Oh Ha Rin's birthday is a day that brings tears on multiple occasions and as we are taken on a journey through time we get blissful moments of sweetness but also suffering.
This is an unusual teen romance that explores the relationship between Ji Seo Jun and Oh Ha Rin as they try to save eachother. It is nice that neither party needs to explicitly declare their feelings and due to the jumps in time we get to see them in various periods of their life.
Both Yang Hong Seok and Yeri were very good at conveying convincing emotions through their eyes and overall persona. This series made me look forward to seeing their future progress as actors. They may not have shared more than a peck but their affections were shown very clearly in other ways. Seo Jun's constant and obsessive focus on Ha Rin through the viewfinder of his film camera was just one of the many details that reflected the bond they share.
There is nothing to dislike about this series. The time travel element is handled well, we get a nice balance of romance and drama and we are relived of our pain with a happy ending. It is a teen romance that has a fantasy twist which I have not seen before. Yes, there are a few romances to do with jumps in time but this is the first teen romance where both parties have the ability to alter their past. However, I think because we had so many time jumps I didn't feel as though I connected with the characters as much as I would have liked. We explore the mystery of Seo Jun's death but I felt like we missed some moments establishing their relationship more. I also felt that the second lead was just added as another plot point but his role bared no impact on the core story and he was just left without ever confessing his feelings.
Aside from a few details, there is nothing really to criticise but it just lacked that final spark in order to get a five star rating.
