Hyun Soo has started changing, with the help of Ji Tae, and now he is more confident and sure of himself. However, he starts doubting that he will ever get out of prison.

At court, the prosecutor asks for the death penalty, but the final rule is a life sentence. That is when Hyun Soo loses any hope of ever proving his innocence, even when his family is trying for an appeal.

But Joong Han doesn't give up and he eventually discovers photos, which Sang Beom has hidden, and in which the doctor of the rehabilitation clinic was at the house on the night of the murder. So, he goes to Sang Beom, who has retired in all honors and tells him to right his wrongs.

He then finds Tae Hee, who was also awarded for setting Hyun Soo to prison, and they both set him free, as it is discovered that the doctor indeed had committed the crime. They also take full credit, stating that they continued the investigation when they believed Hyun Soo's pleas.

However, proving that he is innocent comes a little too late for Hyun Soo, who had just seen Ji Tae getting murdered. He comes out now a different man, who doesn't seem to be able to fall back into his old habits. In the end, he buys cigarettes and goes on a rooftop, looking down at the view of the city at night.

Meanwhile, Joong Han is asked to represent a new client, but, as he leaves the police station with him, he finds a girl in a cell and gives her his card, telling her to call him if she needs a lawyer.

The ending of the drama is, admirably, anticlimactic. The story was building up to the big finale and the solution of the crime, when everything goes in lighting speed and the culprit is just found, without a proper explanation of his motives or how he did it.

Hyun Soo's last scene is questionable as well. Did he jump, finding life out of prison difficult to adjust to? Or was it just him being melancholic and dealing with his demons?

At least Joong Han's ending was better presented. He still took up various cases, but he maintained his sharp eye of justice and gave his hand to another victim who seemed scared and helpless. And her being the well-known actress Kim Yoo Jung, might be an indication of a possible second season.
