Set in 1990s Mem and Night connect due to a school pen pal assignment and begin a sweet journey into friendship and perhaps more as they mvoe from paper to phone calls to finally meeting in person.

The cinematography was in keeping with the time it is set and the music score is well chosen. Despite the episode being under thirty minutes long you are given lots of background information to the characters and there are subtle inferences made with the chosen shots of objects and character mannerisms.

This episode has made me very excited for their seires together. Let's watch these cities bloom!
