Big Hit Music has made their response to a financial analyst’s prediction that BTS would enlist together in 2022, stating they have no comment.
Big Hit Music made their statement to media outlet Tenasia, and stated that they do not have any comment to share about BTS’s military enlistment.
We have nothing further to say about their military enlistment besides what our artist has already said. We ask for your understanding.
— Big Hit Music
Back in 2020 when BTS released their album BE, Jin mentioned that he would be ready to enlist in the military whenever the nation calls him to do so.
As a young South Korean, military service is a natural thing to do. If the nation calls me to do my military service, I will respond whenever that time is.
— Jin
Back in December 2020, the Ministry of Defense approved an amendment to the Military Service Act, allowing K-Pop artists who have received a decoration of cultural merit from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to delay their enlistment up until the age of 30. If BTS is considered eligible for the deferment, the group's eldest member Jin will be able to postpone his enlistment until 2022.
A financial analyst from Leading Investment and Securities is predicting that the BTS members will enlist in the military together by mid-2022.
Yoo Seong Man, an analyst at Leading Investment and Securities, released his analysis report on HYBE and stated that he believes the BTS members will enlist together.
I expect that the BTS members will enlist together by mid-2022.
Because of pre-production of content such as an album prior to their enlistment, there will only be roughly a one-year gap [with no BTS content].
BTS is at the world-star level similar to Michael Jackson or The Beatles, so they can continue to generate hits and profit even after serving in the military.
— Yoo Seong Man
He also shared how he believes HYBE has enough high-tier artists to fill in the time that BTS will be inactive due to their military service.
HYBE has a solid lineup of both Korean and foreign artists to fill in the gap during BTS’s military enlistment.
SEVENTEEN is next in line to follow in the K-Pop boy group genealogy, after BIGBANG-EXO-BTS. They also hold strong a strong Korean lineup of NU’EST, TXT, ENHYPEN, and GFRIEND.
In addition, with the recent merger and acquisition of Ithaca Records, they now also have Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande under their label. Starting from the third quarter of 2021 and through 2022, HYBE and their music subsidiaries are planning to debut at least 5 new idol groups, both male and female.
HYBE will also establish an absolute position in the entertainment industry through Weverse, and leap to the position of a global enterprise platform. It is expected that YG Entertainment artists, including BLACKPINK, will also be able to notice the effect of joining HYBE’s Weverse.

The K-Pop groups participating on Kingdom this year range from early third generation to recent fourth generation groups, which allows fans to see idols from different eras of the music genre perform in their own areas of skill!
With these big differences in debut and experience, the ages of all the participants on the survival show vary quite a bit — in fact, the youngest and oldest idols on the show have a difference in age of 10 years!
All of the idols participating on the show, however, have proven that age really doesn’t mean a lot when it comes to talent, as both those that are older and those that are less experienced have still shown just how incredible they are as performers.
Here are the ages, from youngest to oldest, of all 48 idols from the groups participating on Kingdom, including those who are not actually actively on the show for various reasons such as health or military service!

No two idols’ experiences are the same. While some continuously praise their agencies for providing good resources and support, others end their contracts on a sour note. Three of these Cube Entertainment idols shared stories of mistreatment and mismanagement after parting ways with the company. One is still signed to the agency and is seeking to end his contract.
1. Elkie (CLC)
In an exclusive interview with Mingpao, a Hong Kong newspaper, Elkie shared the true reasons why left Cube Entertainment and her former group, CLC. During her time at the agency, she suffered both mistreatment and mismanagement.
A composer at the company harmed Elkie’s mental wellbeing by allegedly calling her “really dumb” and “totally useless“, while an extreme training schedule took a toll on her physical health. She recalled dancing for 16 hours straight.
The most extreme incident was when I couldn’t sleep for several days and wasn’t even able to remove my makeup. The longest time I’ve had dance practice was for 16 hours straight, from noon to late at night. I was so tired that I walked like a zombie.
— Elkie
Moreover, Elkie says CLC was robbed of opportunities to succeed. For instance, CLC’s song “La Vie en Rose” was given to IZ*ONE. CLC released “NO” instead.
The song and opportunity that originally belonged to us were given to someone else and the situation felt so helpless. The 7 of us worked really hard, but the agency took away our opportunities. I think the agency was way too out of line. I feel so disappointed.
— Elkie
Release schedules can make or break a K-Pop group; more releases result in more interest from fans and more revenue from album sales. CLC suffered from a lack of regular releases and resources that, in the end, resulted in Elkie’s decision to leave the group.
CLC did not have releases frequently…sometimes it took a year to have a new song or album. When the agency said they will not give CLC any more resources, I thought there was no point for me to stay. As an artist I just wanted to meet with fans through my works. If nothing can be done, there’s nothing I can do to repay the fans, and I can’t accept that.
— Elkie
2. HyunA and Dawn (PENTAGON)
HyunA and Dawn (then E’Dawn of PENTAGON) found out through the media that Cube Entertainment had terminated their contracts. In 2018, the couple (then Cube Entertainment labelmates and Triple H members) revealed that they were in a relationship and had been dating for two years.
In a handwritten letter, HyunA revealed that CUBE Entertainment had treated her unfairly, casting her aside despite the loyalty and support she had shown them.
Firstly, when I was parting ways with JYP, I was on Chairman Hong’s side. Secondly, when there was a conflict between Chairman Hong and President Park Choong Min, I turned down President Park even when he tried to convince me and stood on the side of Chairman Hong. Thirdly, after Cube went public, the only thing I’ve done is do my best to help create the Cube that it has become today.
— HyunA
After HyunA’s dating news broke, her schedules were canceled and her contract was terminated prematurely, all without telling her beforehand.
I don’t know how great of a crime I’ve committed, but since the beginning of September, all of my schedules have been canceled. Then on September 13, I read the news of my removal. Even though I could’ve been told in person.
— HyunA
HyunA was told that the company’s stockholders would be holding a meeting about the dating “scandal”, and she would be informed of the results, but she didn’t hear back from them.
After patiently waiting while enduring declining health and damage to her reputation, HyunA finally gave CUBE Entertainment a deadline.
Everyday is torture for me. For these past two months, it has been too difficult for me to wait. I ask that you give a response by the 15th. Then, I would like for the contract to be canceled cleanly and gentlemanly. If I receive no response by then, I will go my way through a press conference on the basis of the facts that have occurred thus far.
I ask once again but I’ve only done my very best, deteriorating my health in order to sacrifice for the Cube that exists today. Despite my feelings, my image has hit rock bottom and my reputation has been tarnished because of my removal from Cube.
— HyunA
3. Lai Guanlin (Wooseok x Kuanlin)
A former Produce 101 contestant, former member of WannaOne, and current member of the duo Wooseok x Kuanlin is involved in an ongoing legal battle with Cube Entertainment. It began in 2019 when Lai Guanlin requested that his exclusive contract with the agency be canceled.
Through his lawyer, Lai Guanlin revealed that Cube Entertainment sold his promotional rights in China to another agency without permission. Cube Entertainment has refuted the claims, stating that they have not violated any contractual agreements.
On July 27, 2017, Lai Guanlin signed an exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment. Within just a few months, in January 2018, Cube sold Lai Guanlin’s management rights in China to a third-party agency. Through the transaction, Cube was given a sum that was dozens of times larger than the contract fee given to Lai Guanlin.
Lai Guanlin and his parents were not consulted about this at all, so they weren’t able to agree or disagree with the transaction.
— Lai Kuanlin’s Lawyer
Lai Guanlin’s lawyer also stated that Cube Entertainment agreed to conflicting schedules without Lai Guanlin’s consent that caused his image to become “damaged” in the Chinese broadcast industry.
Although the Seoul Central District Court dismissed the request to suspend his exclusive contract, Lai Guanlin has since filed an appeal. After he announced his decision to continue pursuing legal action, Cube Entertainment stated that the agency respects the court’s decision and that they plan to resolve the issue through amicable talks with him.
BTS‘s “good boy” V has the heart of an angel and has been praised numerous times by artists for his kindness.
Here are 4 of these moments.
1. Getting a seat for NU’EST W
At the 33rd Golden Disc Awards, NU’EST, who was active as NU’EST W since Minhyun was a member of WANNA ONE, only had three chairs to share between the four of them. The members decided to seat two members and have two standing. V saw this, so he brought an extra chair so that all the members could be seated!
NU’EST’s Baekhospoke about this situation in a live broadcast.
At the time, two of us were standing, and two of us sat. There were 3 chairs. We had to sit, but there were 4 of us, so it would be weird if only 1 were standing. But we couldn't all stand either. So we thought, what was the least weird position. We sit like that during interviews too. Two sit in the front, and two stands. Then it looks like we sat like that on purpose.
γ ‘ Baekho
Baekho also called V “an angel.”
Another singer brought us a chair, and we were so thankful. While we were confused, he provided a solution… He was like an angel.
γ ‘ Baekho
2. Showing support to Oh My Girl’s Seunghee
Oh My Girl’s Seunghee was high school classmates with BTS’s Jimin and V, and they have maintained their friendship to this day!
Yeah, we still keep in touch. They're on tour right now… but I've told them, if things get rough on the road and they need someone to talk it out with, they have me.
— Seunghee
The three are also extremely supportive of each other. One time, Seunghee was nervous about a performance at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA). Jimin and V saw this, so they reassured her that she looked great on stage and did a great job! After hearing these kind words from her friends, Seunghee felt better about her performance.
3. Starting a friendship with singer Paul Kim
In an episode of Idol Room, singer Paul Kim spoke about his friendship with BTS’s V. Paul Kim revealed that their friendship started when he felt lonely during an awards ceremony. V came up to him and started a conversation!
I received his help once. I went to an awards ceremony once, and I was alone since everyone was a group. Since I was alone, [V] came up to take care of me. He told me, 'Come sit next to me.' He took the initiative to start up conversations with me first.
— Paul Kim
That same night, the two exchanged phone numbers, and V soon asked Paul Kim if he wanted to have dinner together!
Paul Kim accepted V’s offer, and V even paid for the dinner. Since then, their friendship has only been growing!
4. Eating and chatting with TXT’s Yeonjun when he was alone
BTS is extremely kind to their junior labelmates, TXT. In a live broadcast, TXT’s Yeonjun shared that one day he was eating breakfast by himself, and V came and told him that he hadn’t eaten yet either. V sat with Yeonjun, and the two ate together and conversed.
Yeonjun was “really grateful” that V kept him company!
Popular Korean Twitch streamer Jinnytty is known for her outdoor broadcasts, so her viewers didn’t suspect anything unusual when she tried to stream at a popular resort. However, things took a surprising turn when she stumbled upon TWICE‘s new music video set instead.
It’s already been six months since TWICE released “I Can’t Stop Me” and latest album Eyes Wide Open, so ONCEs were ecstatic this week when JYP Entertainment confirmed the group would be making a comeback in June this year. When confirming the news, the company also revealed that the members currently filming their music video on Jeju Island, the largest island in South Korea. However, fans didn’t actually expect to get a glimpse of the music video set—until now.
In her latest broadcast, Jinnytty (also known as Jinny) decided to take her camera and viewers with her on a trip to a popular Jeju Island resort. However, when she arrived, she was promptly stopped by filming crew members.
After some brief discussion, Jinny was informed that TWICE themselves were currently on location. Even more surprisingly, the streamer learned that JYP Entertainment had rented the entire resort for a music video shoot.
Guys, I think TWICE is here… It’s not a joke. They’re making a music video so they rented the whole place.
— Jinnytty
The resort in question is none other than LOTTE Hotel Jeju, a sprawling luxury resort right by the seashore. LOTTE Hotel Jeju has 500 rooms, each currently averaging around $450 USD per night, so it’s likely that the company may have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on the music video set alone.
While Jinny only showed a small glimpse of the shooting location in her Twitch broadcast, photos of the resort show how incredible it is.
The tropical-themed outdoor area features several swimming pools, palm trees, and stunning gold and purple lighting in the evening.
Beyond the cabanas, windmills, and artificial rock formations, the hotel also offers a beautiful view of the ocean.
If this shooting location is anything to go by, TWICE’s new comeback is shaping up to be an incredible summer-themed hit. Interestingly, Jinnytty is a budding performer herself. Last year, she released “Bang Bang”: a collaboration with fellow Twitch streamers HAchubby, Yuggie_TV, and Yunicorn19.
While filming the resort, Jinny asked her viewers, “Can you hear the music?” While it’s hard to make out any music in the background, if you listen hard enough to Jinny’s clip below, you may be able to hear a snippet of TWICE’s next single.
In a new “In Or Out” video with Esquire, MONSTA X discussed which food and fashion trends are in and which are out in the loudest, most chaotic way!
Cappuccino: out
Cappuccino was their first victim–and was immediately kicked out!
“100% out!” Kihyun yelled when the question was asked.
All the other members joined in the yelling, completely ignoring Minhyuk asking them all to elaborate on why.
Finally, they settled down, and Hyungwon and Joohoney explained that they only like Americano.
“I love cappuccino when I’m cold,” said Minhyuk. “But it’s out! Sorry cappuccino!”
Big coats: in
“Definitely in!” I.M exclaimed.
Once again, Minhyuk was the outlier, saying he prefers fitted looks, and only likes oversized coats if they’re by Balenciaga.
“I like Balenciaga,” Joohoney then said, much to the amusement of his members. “Call me!”
Berets: out
Both Joohoney and Kihyun agreed that they love berets, which comes as no surprise: both of them wear them often!
“They’re so cutie-cutie!” exclaimed Joohoney. “I have so many berets.”
“I like bucket hats but not berets,” said I.M. “For me, I think it’s too much.”
Despite Joohoney and Kihyun’s enthusiasm for them, the group ended up voting them out.
Luxury sweatpants: in
This was probably the most chaotic one! First, Kihyun accurately predicted Joohoney’s answer: in!
“I think [Joohoney] will say in,” he explained. “He has a lot of luxury sweatpants.”
“People think sweatpants are to chill,” said Minhyuk. “But my sweatpants are expensive!”
When they thought they had settled on “in,” however, Hyungwon deemed them out!
“Are you sure you don’t have any?!” Minhyuk then accused him. “I’ll look for it!”
“My sweatpants are… Everything is so cheap,” Hyungwon insisted, making Minhyuk and Kihyun immediately start protesting!
“Liar liar!” Kihyun yelled.
“He has Balenciaga sweatpants!” Minhyuk yelled.
After much yelling from his members, Hyungwon finally decided they were in.
Cucumber: in
Ask any MONBEBE about cucumber and they’ll give you the same answer: Minhyuk absolutely hates them!
So when they were asked about cucumbers, the first thing Shownu did was ask Minhyuk if he was okay!
Joohoney immediately exposed him!
Then Minhyuk asked his bandmates whether they thought cucumber smelled good, and when they all answered yes, Minhyuk was disgusted.
“And their shape… It’s…” Minhyuk began, but before he could continue, Joohoney insisted that cucumbers’ shape is “very beautiful and pretty!”
Despite Joohoney’s convincing arguments, Hyungwon still voted them out!
“Don’t eat it!” he exclaimed while Minhyuk praised him.
However, they ended up voting it in!
“They’re in, but not welcome,” said I.M.
Being tall: out
While not technically a trend, height is often tied to beauty and fashion. None of them were quite sure how to approach the last question, so leader Shownu took charge.
“I think ‘out,'” he said. “You don’t need it.”
“Height is not important,” agreed Minhyuk.
With that, they ended off a chaotic interview on a much calmer note!
You can see the chaos for yourself in the video below.
BTS‘s Jungkook is the president of RM‘s fan club, but that didn’t stop Jin from testing his loyalty!
Let’s take a trip back in time to the legendary “DNA” era. In 2017, BTS was just starting to break into the US music mainstream with their album LOVE YOURSELF: Her and their unforgettable performance at the American Music Awards.
A month before the AMAs, BTS performed “DNA” at their comeback show, and hilarity happened behind the scenes. It all started when Jimin and V decided it would be fun to scold their members for being tardy.
When Jin arrived after J-Hope, he was put in charge of scolding the next late member, Jungkook.
As you might guess, Jin wasn’t too thrilled about it! The Golden Maknae, aka ARMY’s Muscle Bunny, can be a little “scary” sometimes.
Jungkook lived up to his maknae-on-top reputation but giving Jin this “IDGAF neck slice,” but RM? That’s a different story!
The members asked Jungkook if he would rather scold RM or Suga, but he wasn’t enthusiastic about joining in the game. “Don’t know,” he replied. “I can’t be bothered.”
When Jungkook saw that RM was the next tardy member, he started looking for an escape route…
…then moved as far away as possible!
Can you blame him? BTS couldn’t ask for a sweeter leader, but RM can seem intimidating!
Luckily, Jungkook was saved by the bell, or rather, by a staff member calling BTS to the stage.
Some exciting news for Girls’ Generation‘s Seohyun has come out in the middle of her controversy.
According to recent news reports, the Girls’ Generation member was cast in an upcoming Netflix film titled Moral Sense. This will be a film adaptation based on the webcomic with the same name. Fans have already begun to get excited due to not just the cast, but also because of the interesting plotline.
The story follows Seohyun, who will be portraying Jung Ji Woo, and her co-worker, Jung Ji Hoo, who is played by U-KISS member, Lee Jun Young. A package with a dog leash meant for S&M purchases was wrongfully delivered to Jung Ji Woo (Seohyun) instead of Jung Ji Hoo (Lee Jun Young) due to their similar names. Jung Ji Hoo explains his S&M fetish to Jung Ji Woo and later discovers that she may also have the same BDSM fantasies as himself. The film follows the two co-workers and their potential master-servant relationship.
This caught the eyes of Girls’ Generation fans as Seohyun is famously known for her angel-like and innocent image. While she may almost be 30-years-old, her clean image has remained with her throughout the entirety of her career. Due to the sexual nature of this film’s plotline and the casting choice made by the production team, the movie is starting to garner attention before its premiere date.
The exciting casting news couldn’t have come at a better time for the Girls’ Generation member. Just a week ago, actor Kim Jung Hyun became the center of mass criticism when it was revealed by Dispatch that his rude behavior during The Time‘s production was due to his then-girlfriend, actress Seo Ye Ji. Seohyun became tangled in the messy situation when past press conference clips started circulating online. These clips showed Kim Jung Hyun being visibly cold and stern towards Seohyun, who acted alongside the actor as his female lead for the production.
While the drama concluded filming back in 2018, the clips and related news reports began to resurface in light of the ongoing controversy. It was also further reported that Seohyun cried numerous times on the set of The Time due to Kim Jung Hyun’s rude behavior, but remained professional for the entirety of the production.
In light of the belated controversy, netizens began showering Seohyun with their support, rallying behind the singer and actress. They have expressed their adoration and respect for the Girls’ Generation member due to her constant positive attitude and professionalism despite all the negativity.
With her recent casting news, Seohyun has been receiving support from all over and we couldn’t be more excited for her.
The movie is set to release on Netflix but does not yet have a premiere date.
