Aiming to bring a layer of youth, Cha Hak Yeon and Jung Yi Seo are set for their characters in the new series Mine.
Minerevolves around the stories of strong women who escape the prejudice of the world. Lee Bo Young and Kim Seo Hyung are rightful owners of these new roles. The talented and versatile actresses are set to draw characters of elite and privileged women.
Boasting an exceptional creative team, Mine will be penned by Baek Mi-kyeong of Strong Girl Bong Soon, The Lady in Dignity and This is My Love fame. In charge of the production is director Lee Na-jeong. Her portfolio includes Love Alarm, Fight For My Way and Oh My Venus.
Cha Hak Yeon as Han Soo-hyuk
Playing the role of a third-generation chaebol Han Soo-hyuk is Cha Hak Yeon. The actor will be the onscreen son of actors Kim Seo Hyung and Park Hyuk Kwon. As the grandson of Hyowon Group, he has a life that looks perfect but he is a person with unspeakable pain and loneliness.
Accordingly, Cha Hak Yeon, who recently gathered attention through his intense portrayal in tvN’s 2021 drama stage The Fair, raises expectations as to what kind of transformation he will show in the drama Mine.
He said, “The way writer Baek Mi-kyung tells the story was so new, and the characters are all alive. So it was a script that keeps you wonder what the next content will be.”
Grateful for the opportunity to work with talented seniors in the industry, he expressed there’s no reason not to take the role. He further revealed his preparations for Han Soo-hyuk.
“Han Soo-hyuk is the youngest son of a chaebol with an amazing background, but he is a lonely character. I thought that acting as well as external appearance was important, So, I worked hard on exercise and diet. Before filming, I went through several meetings with the production crew to draw the character well. Additionally, I have completed the styling of the character, and I am very excited about how it will be projected to the viewers."
Jung Yi Seo as Kim Yoo-yeon
Confessing to how eager she was to get the role in Mine, Jung Yi Seo said she fell in love on the script the first time she read it.
Set to portray Kim Yoo-yeon, the actress’ role is a maid whose life changed when she entered the rich household of Hyowon family.
"It was exciting from the time I first read the synopsis. The stories each person has kept raising curiosity. Above all, the flexible role continued to linger in my mind. So, at the audition, I strongly appealed to the director. It is a work I really wanted to do,” she said, expressing his affection and enthusiasm for the work.
In addition, Jung Yi Seo said, “The role of Kim Yoo-yeon is a really new challenge for me. I’m living in a difficult situation because my family is poor, but I hoped that I didn’t look pitiful or sluggish. Even in such a life, I want to show bright and confident energy. It was the hardest to express, but we are preparing hard so that it can be an opportunity to grow up a notch. It is the first time I have played a character with such a narrative in a drama, so I hope many people will see it.”
Mine will be broadcast for the first time in May following Vincenzo.

Picking up another interesting case, Taxi Driver has been settling well to the viewers’ system with its engrossing drive!
The recent episodes of SBS network’s newest offering took us to an annoying high and serves-you-right conclusion. Our newest team of justice servers straightened up school bullies, and it was definitely a rewarding experience.
Taxi Driver narrates the story of a cryptic taxi company that provides private revenge for unfair victims who are not protected by the law. The team pursues the perpetrators with its justice-seeking team working together to serve rightful punishments.
Neatly executed, feeling gravitated to support the Rainbow Taxi team’s cause is expected. It further attests to its soaring viewership ratings in the last back-to-back episodes. Notching 9.8, 13.6, 11.6, and 15.6; the latter score even achieved the top spot on all television shows on April 17.
A persistent nagging concern, episodes 3 and 4 of Taxi Driver delves on the vengeance help raised by a high school boy suffering in the hands of school bullies. Living with his mother who has a hearing impairment, he grieves on his harrowing situation out of his love for his mom.
Pushed to the edge, he found the contact information of Rainbow Deluxe Taxi Company while surfing the internet. From there, Kim Do-ki (Lee Je Hoon) and the team executed how to outsmart the hopeless school bullies. Do-ki assumes the role of a temporary teacher to get closer to the trio of student baddies.
By threatening them with his knowledge that the three smoke marijuana, he made them move recklessly culminating in them hiring thugs to beat Do-ki. A not so good idea since our hero can pulverize quite a few singlehandedly.
Completely taming the bullies, Do-ki set up a reborn ceremony for the leader of the gang. He also made sure that he will pay for all the pain he caused in the past. Teaching the idea of remorse, the student who was bullied gets an inspiration to toughen up for his mom.
Taxi Driver Episodes 3 & 4 Musings
“It may be just a small part of their teenage years, but to others, it may be a life or death situation.”
Clearly displaying a picture of shameless student oppressors, I felt disheartened by this seemingly endless cycle of failing to defeat this issue. How to strengthen the policy involving school bullying and where the gap lies really has to enter a strict monitoring phase.
These episodes from Taxi Driver gave us a clear presentation of a failure in the system. Likewise, it also emphasized how youth can get used to being bad without proper guidance and with their own volition.
While the premise of the series takes a quasi-good-prevails-evil mood, its intention from the onset defies the role of real crime solvers. That’s where Esom’s character, Kang Ha Na, will blend in the story. She is tracking a case linked to the Rainbow Deluxe Taxi company team.
A glimpse from Do-ki’s past is an apparent teaser to the overview of the main conflict. Entangling it to Jang Sung Chul and Baek Su Mi’s partnership that could go awry at any minute, Taxi Driver aims to step on the gas without hitting the break.
Catch up on the latest episodes of Taxi Driver on Viu!
