On top of my list is "Lovers of the Red Sky" (LotRS or Red Sky, for short). Next is Yang Yang's "You Are My Glory" (which is completely subbed by now), followed by "Hometown Cha Cha Cha."

"Hospital Playlist 2" has been moved to the backburner. I would have thrown it in the rubbish pile a long time ago, but my curiosity demands that I witness this director and writer's self-immolation till the end.

I've to start on my "Racket Boys" review.

Here are the dramas of September that struck my fancy.

1. Yumi's Cells

Since I've often wondered what went on inside the head of somebody who made a dumb decision, this romcom should be funny. This is based on a completed webtoon.

Synopsis from soompi:

Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, "Yumi's Cells" will tell the story of an ordinary office worker named Yumi—from the point of view of the many brain cells in her head controlling her every thought, feeling, and action. Kim Go Eun will be playing the titular role of Yumi, an ordinary woman who struggles with expressing her feelings, while Ahn Bo Hyun will star as Goo Woong, a warm-hearted but straightforwardly honest game developer.

Cast:

Kim Go Eun ("The King: Eternal Monarch" and "Goblin")
Ahn Bo Hyun (never heard of him but he was in "Itaewon Class") He reminds me of Kyungsoo D.O.

Episodes: only 14?!
Start Date: Friday, Sept 17
This will air the day after HP2's end. I'll need a distraction.
Where to Watch it: Viki
Network: tvN

2. Dali and the Cocky Prince

Another romcom. This looks like fun.

Synopsis from mydramalist

About the unexpected romance that occurs as Jin Moo Hak tries to steal an art museum from Kim Dal Ri.

Kim Dal Ri, who was a visiting researcher at Kröller-Müller Museum and then becomes the director of Chungsong Art Museum. She is a character whose speech and actions are always classy and considerate. Dal Ri enjoys studying diverse fields such as art, philosophy, and religion, and she is proficient in seven languages.

Jin Moo Hak, whose family grew a tiny gamja-tang (spicy pork back bone stew) restaurant into the global food corporation DonDon F&B. Although he is a director of the company, he is far from intelligent and was always ranked last in his class when he was in school.

Cast:

Kim MinJae ("Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency")
Park GyuYoung ("It's Okay to Be Psycho" – she had a crush on the male lead)

Episodes: 16
Start Date: Wednesday, Sept 22
Where to Watch it: Viki
Network: KBS

3. The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim

I've been following this series, but I suggest that you binge-watch it when it's over. The final episode is in October. Each episode is only 20 minutes long.

This is about high school girl with shaman skills teaming up with the handsome class valedictorian to fight the evil spirit that's been killing the lowest-ranking student at their prestigious school. Talk about high stakes exams!

Cast:
Nam DaReum
Kim SaeRon

Episodes: 12 (7 episodes have already been released)
Where to Watch It: Viki

This is a webdrama. The cinematography, special effects, soundtrack, etc., aren't that polished but the plot is fine. There are no plotholes. Despite its low-budget, the show's doing what it has to do.

Na DaReum (the adolescent JP in "Start-Up") is over-emoting again with his angsty scenes. lol. His emotional scenes always remind me of Chicken Little squawking "The sky's falling!" But I'm giving him a pass because he's young. He'll grow into it.

Kim SaeRon isn't doing any aegyo…so far.

I'm not sure about "chemistry" of the two leads but as long as the story flows, I'm not lodging major complaints about this webdrama.

4. Chinese dramas???

"You Are My Glory."

I'm not starting anything else till I'm done with this series. But I'm eyeing "Battle of Changsha" with Wallace Hugo and YangZi. I think it's going to be melodramatic since the setting is the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945).

Anyway, I'm revving myself up for my Yang Yang-centric reviews.
